Wolfberry

Commonly known as goji berry, these bright red fruits have transitioned from traditional medicine to modern superfood status. The berries offer a unique sweet-tart flavor with slight earthy undertones when fully ripe. Packed with zeaxanthin, polysaccharides, and antioxidants, wolfberries are traditionally used to support vision, vitality, and immune function. Their versatility allows them to be enjoyed raw, dried, or as part of herbal decoctions. Modern research continues to explore their potential anti-aging and neuroprotective properties. The berries' natural sweetness makes them popular in teas and wellness tonics, while their nutritional profile supports their traditional reputation as a longevity food. Careful drying preserves their vibrant color and active compounds.

Medicinal value
Chinese wolfberry
The fruit (called wolfberry in Chinese medicine) has the same medicinal function as that of wolfberry in Ningxia; the root bark (called digubar in traditional Chinese medicine) has the effect of antipyretic and relieving cough.

Lycium barbarum polysaccharide:
Lycium barbarum polysaccharide is a water-soluble polysaccharide and the most important active ingredient in Lycium barbarum. Its relative molecular mass is 68-200, which has become a research hotspot at home and abroad. Among them, the immune regulation and anti-tumor effects of Lycium barbarum polysaccharide are the most studied. Many studies have shown that Lycium barbarum polysaccharide has the functions of promoting immunity, anti-aging, anti-tumor, scavenging free radicals, anti-fatigue, anti-radiation, protecting liver, protecting and improving reproductive function, etc.

Betaine:
The chemical name is 1-carboxy-N,N,N-trimethylaminohydantoin, which is similar to amino acids in chemical structure and belongs to the quaternary amine bases. Betaine is one of the main alkaloids in wolfberry fruit, leaf and stalk. The effect of wolfberry on lipid metabolism or anti-fatty liver is mainly caused by the betaine contained in it, which acts as a methyl supplier in the body. The research on Lycium barbarum betaine is limited to domestic research on content determination, extraction technology and physiological effects on Lycium barbarum plants (enhancement of salt tolerance). There are few studies on the pharmacological effects of Lycium barbarum betaine
